
Senior Vendor Manager (Contract)
Prime Trust is seeking a Senior Vendor Manager to develop a Procurement & Vendor
Management program. The ideal candidate will develop and cultivate ongoing relationships with
external vendors from the earliest stages of vendor engagement through service performance.
The candidate will partner and advise colleagues on developing plans to purchase new
technology, working with vendors and the finance team to setup world-class business
relationships to deliver against Prime Trust’s rapid adoption and transformation goals.
As a Senior Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring technology and business
requirements are fully developed, rationalized and contracted as part of commercial agreement
setup and maintenance with vendors. Senior Vendor Managers translate IT and business
requirements into terms Prime Trust and vendors establish in contracts as well as lead
development and analysis on the financial models and components of new and existing
agreements. Senior Vendor Managers manage a portfolio of vendors to support a multiple
functional areas of IT and the associated vendor budget to support.
Principal Responsibilities:
▪ Capture and translate roadmap plans into vendor requirements, use expertise in the
development of commercial terms with software and service providers to advise and lead
the requirements definition for Prime Trust
▪ Lead and create the financial models and strategy for commercial agreements, including
budget requirements, optimal financial and software license models, and participate in
negotiation efforts to deliver optimal financial and business terms
▪ Manage a budget of vendor spend in portfolio area, facilitates annual planning with executive
leaders for functional area, advising on trade-offs, helping budget for priorities and
synergy opportunities
▪ Provide oversight and produces recommendations and executes tactics to deliver
requirements within budget
▪ Facilitate and maintains relationships between strategic vendors and internal resources,
including IT stakeholders and executive leadership
▪ Identify appropriate relationships in conjunction with internal customers and vendors to drive
proper alignment on business and operational topics
▪ Manage escalation and arbitration of relationship and operational issues if other avenues fail
▪ Participate in the measuring of vendor performance and shares responsibility for the
governance for vendors
Experience:
▪ 10+ years of professional experience in vendor management, procurement or program
management
▪ Ability to create financial models on potential technology deals; assessing various models and
trade-offs; ability to advise leaders based on financial analysis
▪ Initiate the building of relationships with colleagues and vendor representatives; has strong
capability to build trusted working relationships, act as trusted advisor and influencer
among peers and leaders
▪ Outstanding communication skills with ability to present and advise senior executives on
subject managed area
▪ Experience and knowledge on how technology companies (emphasis on software and
services) commercially sell their products ie., types of licensing, industry standard terms
▪ Ability to work in a fast paced environment as a trusted advisor to the organization with internal
stakeholders while engaging with complex business deals, contracts and financial
requirements
▪ Program management of technology programs, involved in scoping of new capabilities,
roadmap and budget planning, financial and resource trade-offs along with the tactical
execution of needed program deliverables
▪ Understands how an IT organization operates with annual program planning, product
evaluation and selection, budgeting processes, technology integration and sustaining
Education:
▪ Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent experience
▪ Experience in the sales process of technology, either as a customer or salesperson
▪ Prior experience purchasing software, technology, professional services, technology services,
etc. from a competitive company or similar industry as Prime Trust
