Position: Senior Business Compliance Onboarding Specialist

Job Brief

Prime Trust is seeking a Senior Business Compliance Onboarding Specialist who will be responsible for performing customer due diligence reviews and compliance assessments of API integrators and supporting sales, partnerships, integrations and other new initiatives by providing compliance expertise.  This position requires someone highly analytical, organized, and detailed-oriented.

 Principal Responsibilities

Perform due diligence and risk assessments to support new products, partnerships and other initiatives to identify and mitigate compliance risks and provide guidance on regulatory expectations, industry norms, and appropriate controls

Perform enhanced due diligence for high-risk customer accounts including entities and individuals and drafting assessment reports

Serve as a compliance specialist and point of contact for Sales, Marketing and Customer Success functions

Conduct OFAC and other watchlist screening of customers and third parties and negative news searches, escalating items requiring additional attention

Analyze data derived from multiple sources, including publicly available databases and websites

Identify information gaps and recommend action items for resolution

Document and communicate analysis and recommended actions in a timely manner to compliance management and/or other internal stakeholders when appropriate

Assist with developing and maintaining compliance guidelines, training and other tools related to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Keep abreast of new laws, industry regulations and industry best practices, and advise management on changes that may be necessary to comply with new requirements

Assist with compliance projects, as required

Experience and Skills

Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong research and compliance assessment and report-writing skills

Experienced with compliance tools and investigative databases such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw

Minimum 3 years experience in a compliance or AML or fraud investigations role within financial services, fintech or law, preferably with a financial institution, payments organization, law firm, consulting firm or regulatory agency

Working knowledge in banking, payments, virtual currency, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and OFAC sanctions laws, regulations and regulatory guidance

Experienced in compliance risk assessments and due diligence

Adept at drafting procedures and guidelines

Comfortable executing independently in a team environment with minimal supervision

Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth and dynamic environment

Skilled in relationship building, influence management, decision-making and ability to unify diverse interests across stakeholders

Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints within your team and across the organization

High level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency and reliability

Education

Bachelor's degree required, advance degree preferred (JD or LLM)
