Position: Core Compliance Specialist

Job Brief

Prime Trust is seeking a Core Compliance Analyst who will support the development and implementation of the company’s compliance risk management framework. Job functions include assisting with the development of a responsive, efficient compliance program; adapting to the unique compliance requirements of innovative and, often, first-of-their-kind business initiatives; and supporting a variety of measures designed to support ongoing compliance with laws and regulations and established policies and procedures.

Principal Responsibilities

Keep abreast of new laws, industry regulations, and industry best practices, and advise management on changes that may be necessary to comply with new requirements

Serve as a point of contact for other Prime Trust teams to aid in overall compliance efforts

Perform assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks and provide guidance on regulatory expectations, industry norms, and appropriate controls

Enhance the compliance testing and monitoring program

Propose practical and technological solutions to compliance issues, balancing efficiency and the regulatory climate

Identify information and data gaps and develop processes for filling them

Communicate issues and recommended actions in a timely manner to compliance management and/or other internal stakeholders where appropriate

Strategically partner and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally to Prime Trust

Assist in the development and maintenance of procedural documents, training, and processes to help scale and improve the compliance function

Assist with ad hoc compliance programs and projects, as needed, e.g., regulatory audits, internal compliance changes

Experience and Skills

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a regulatory compliance role within financial services, fintech, or law, preferably with a financial institution, payments organization, law firm, consulting firm, or regulatory agency

Knowledgeable of and adaptable to various software programs and platforms

Strong research and writing skills

Proficiency in regulatory and compliance laws in a regulated industry, preferably banking, payments, virtual currency, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance

Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement new strategies and processes supporting the business

Proven ability to understand regulatory concepts and convert them into relevant, practical business requirements

Adept at drafting procedures and guidelines

Comfortable executing independently and in a team environment

Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment

Skilled in relationship-building, influence management, decision-making, and ability to unify diverse interests across stakeholders

Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints within the team and across the organization

Values and demonstrates professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency

Strong ability to synthesize complex information and make clear, concise, and actionable recommendations

Strong ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workflow with aggressive timelines

Education

Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred (JD or LLM)

CAMS, CRCM, or other relevant compliance certification preferred
