Position: Compliance Specialist Escrow Services

Job Brief

Prime Trust is seeking a Compliance Specialist Escrow Services who will be responsible for performing diversified functions that require decision making and problem solving with minimal direction. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and approving escrow agreements for businesses and charities participating in crowdfunding to raise money that have selected Prime Trust as the Escrow Agent. Prime Trust builds SEC-compliant solutions for technology-based securities offerings. The company’s platform provides AML screening and bad actor checks, payment acceptance solutions for both fiat and cryptocurrencies, online investing, escrow management, and broker-dealer compliance and syndication tools.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence for potential escrow customers. Due diligence includes verification of account accuracy and multiple verification checks, negative news, OFAC checks, and ensuring all required documentation is submitted
  • Undertake quality review and analysis of offering documents for compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulations
  • Able to identify misrepresentation, inconsistencies, and/or fraudulent activity from analyzing the offering documentation
  • Escalate unusual activity and critical/high risk findings to Management and provide adequate and thorough description of the observed findings and the necessary information to determine the proper course of action
  • Review Escrow Service and Broker Dealer Tri-Party agreements for completion and send out to management or Legal for countersigning
  • Build strong working relationships and liaise with internal dependents including Escrow Account Management and Escrow Sales Personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of applicant information and data at all times
  • Assist with compliance projects, as required

Experience and Skills

  • One (1) -three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably working a compliance, AML or fraud investigation’s role with a financial institution, payments organization or regulatory agency
  • Familiarity with banking and payments, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and OFAC sanctions laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills leveraging internal systems and various external sources (e.g., LexisNexis, IdentityMind and public searches)
  • Effective skill following, interpreting, and applying guidelines, procedures, practices, and regulatory guidance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and ability to synthesize information and make clear and concise recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines working under a high demand but collaborative team environment

Education

Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent required

Certifications

CFE, CAMS, or other relevant compliance certification preferred

Additional Knowledge

Securities knowledge preferred
